FAHIONable Statements #2

So, the search continues for clothes that say something. And my search has become more fruitful then I initially thought.

Here are some more sites that sell fashion (and more) for good causes:

aurorajane94 commented about these ones:

1. Clothe Your Neighbor as Yourself

Mission: Clothe Your Neighbor as Yourself exists to provide the materially poor with the clothing they need to advance socially and/or economically.

ORPHANS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES CAN’T GO TO SCHOOL TO GET AN EDUCATION SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY CAN’T AFFORD A UNIFORM.  If a child can’t get an education, the cycle of poverty is perpetuate and the poor remain poor.

WE ARE A MOVEMENT. We exist to provide the materially poor with the clothing they need to advance socially or economically. For every shirt you purchase through CYNY, you help provide a uniform to a child in need. In an effort to be socially responsible to our global neighbors, we use the profit from each shirt to pay local women in these developing countries to knit uniforms that are then given to orphans, thus creating jobs and education. If that doesn’t razzle your dazzle, you can go online and choose for yourself how the profit from your order will be spent on someone in your local neighborhood.

2.The Shine Project

In the dictionary, Shine is defined as:
1. to give forth or glow with light
2. to be bright with reflected light; glisten; sparkle.
3. to appear with brightness or clearness.
4. to excel

I believe that all of us possess talents, skills, and abilities that can be used to literally change the world. I believe that stepping out of your comfort zone to do hard things is what gives meaning and happiness to life.

This is what The Shine Project is all about:
Going out of your comfort zone
to bring light to those who need hope.
The Shine Project emulates love, sacrifice, and

3. Team Gleason.

Team Gleason is a charity which supports Steven Gleason, a footballer who was diagnosed with ALS. It is his mission to show that patients can not only live but thrive after this diagnosis.

Here are some of the ones that I found:

4.Team True Beauty

Team True Beauty is an organization created to promote positive self-esteem and self-worth. We believe that true beauty comes from the size of your heart not your waistline. We are here to raise awareness on the dangers of eating disorders and to emphasize the message that being a size zero won’t lead you to happiness, but being beautiful on the inside, being healthy, and following your passions and dreams will. Inner beauty and confidence are what make you beautiful on the outside.
Be healthy. Be beautiful. Be you!

5. Charity:Water

This is the charity that was responisble for the ‘Nobody was Thirsty’ shirt in my last fashionable statements post.

This is their mission statement:

We’re a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries. 100% of all public donations directly fund water projects.

Check out the Why Water? page. It gives details on the health side of it; the people and the communities.

Fashionable Statements

Unfortunately, Team True Beauty doesn’t have a store that I can find but you can always show your support by being CREATIVE! Try making a badge or stickers, or even a funky t-shirt to show your support
