Have you ever heard about a tv show and thought ‘This will be terrible’ and then watch 6 hours in one sitting? I have. I did it with Once Upon A Time. I had very little hopes for something that attempted to merge fairytales with reality – that it would completely ruin my view on those beloved fairytales. But my god! I’m obsessed.
The show starts off with Emma Swan getting a big surprise on her 28th birthday – the little boy she gave up ten years ago. She brings him home to Storybrooke, which he believes is really a fairytale world put under an evil curse so that they forget their fairytale lives.
Jennifer Morrison plays Emma Swan, a bail bondsperson (before she arrives in Storybrooke). She is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming and the biological mother of Henry Mills. She decides to stay in Storybrooke and keep an eye on Henry
Robert Carlyle is Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin. In our world, Gold owns Storybrooke and the pawnshop. In Fairytale Land, Rumplestiltskin is the Dark One. Gold is the one who sets up the adoption of Henry for Regina.
Lana Parilla is brilliant as Regina Mills, the Evil Queen and Henry’s adoptive mother. In Fairytale Land, Regina casts the curse that causes everyone to forget ‘everything they love.’
Ginnifer Goodwin, Megan Ory, Emilie De Ravin, Sebastian Stan, Josh Dallas, Julian Morris, Jessy Scram, Amy Acker, David Anders, Bailee Madison, Barbara Hershey, Giancarlo Esposito and co. take on the roles of a number of fairytale creatures. But you’re just going to have to watch to find out who… or google it. 😀
- Again, I cried at the season finale. What’s new?
- I love the episodes The Prince of Gold (1.04) and Skin Deep (1.12).
- Any scenes with Robert Carlyle, Emilie De Ravin, Megan Ory and/or Jessy Schram.
